Join the Great British Spring Clean and help keep West Oxfordshire looking its best.

West Oxfordshire District Council is supporting the national campaign led by Keep Britain Tidy and it’s so easy to get involved. Borrow free litter pickers and sacks, organise a tidy-up, or join a local event.

Whether it’s a one-off or a regular effort, the Council will support you with equipment (while stocks last) and collect the waste afterwards.

Cllr Lidia Arciszewska said:

“Litter picking is a simple but powerful way for people to make a visible difference in their community. By making equipment available and allowing volunteers to keep it for longer if needed, we hope to support the fantastic ‘litter heroes’ across West Oxfordshire who help keep our district clean and beautiful.

“The Great British Spring Clean is also an opportunity to remind everyone to take responsibility for our shared spaces by not littering. Littering harms the environment and detracts from the natural beauty of our district, which we all have a role in protecting.”

Did you know? Clearing litter costs around £30 per household each year - so every bag you collect helps.

Get started today: Register for equipment on the Council website or check for local clean-up events near you.

Together, we can keep West Oxfordshire clean and green 🌼
