Plans to modernise and improve public toilets across the district

West Oxfordshire District Council is investing over £500,000 to modernise and improve public toilets across the district, focusing on the locations residents and visitors use most.

The proposals would see seven key sites upgraded to provide cleaner, more accessible and modern facilities, including improved disabled access, better lighting and ventilation, and the option to pay by contactless card.

Following a detailed review, six underused sites will close by March 2026, allowing investment to be concentrated where it will have the greatest benefit.

If approved, the plans will deliver high-quality facilities for the future, reduce running costs and ensure public toilets remain fit for purpose for years to come.
