New Oxfordshire-wide programme which aims to make everyday services simpler, greener and better value for money

West Oxfordshire District Council has agreed to take part in a major new Oxfordshire-wide programme which aims to make everyday services like bin collections, recycling, street cleaning and grounds maintenance simpler, greener and better value for money.

The Oxfordshire Waste and Environmental Services Programme (WESP) will see councils work together to modernise services and reduce environmental impact, while saving almost £100 million countywide over 10 years – including £17.3 million of benefits for West Oxfordshire.

For residents, this means clearer and more consistent recycling, better care for local streets and green spaces, improved access to recycling centres, and smarter use of modern vehicles and shared facilities to keep costs down.

The programme will also support wider environmental goals, such as cutting carbon emissions, reducing waste and protecting nature.
