A summary of the update from OCC

OCC have issued a project update on the A40 Eynsham park and ride to Wolvercote scheme.

In summary:

  • Vegetation clearance, ecological works and utility diversions are ongoing, with some works continuing until March 2027.
  • Enabling works are expected to begin autumn 2026, with main construction from spring 2027.
  • The park and ride itself is now expected to open in early summer 2028, with the wider project completed by summer 2029.
  • Some works will take place overnight, and road users/residents may experience some delays, noise or disturbance, with signed diversions in place where needed.
  • The first phase covers the Eynsham park and ride to Cassington section (around 3.5km), including new bus lanes, crossings, junction improvements, and works over Duke's Cut bridge, funded by £126 million from Homes England and the Department for Transport.
