Works continue to build new slip roads at the A40/B4022 Shores Green junction

Fencing to mark boundary and public pathways
We have continued to make progress with the installation of fencing around the site, with particular attention given to the southern boundary of the scheme. This work is being carried out to clearly define between privately owned farmland and the public pathways provided by the scheme, as well as to safeguard civil infrastructure along the project area.
Maintenance bay in progress
In our previous update, we reported that progress was being made on the attenuation pond situated on the south side of the site, with initial works completed and preparations underway for the installation of the grass layer. Thanks to the recent spell of favourable weather, the grass layer has now been successfully laid over the maintenance bay. This enhancement enables the bay to integrate seamlessly with its surroundings while supporting our commitment to environmental sustainability.
Tarmac works begin on the B4022
As construction continues, we are currently preparing to lay tarmac on the B4022. To ensure a smooth, long-lasting finish, we are timing this work to coincide with dry weather.
Our plans for the environment
While it's been necessary to remove some vegetation to enable construction, we have now started the re-vegetation of the disturbed area. Our robust landscaping and environmental protection strategy includes the following:
- Re-vegetation using native species, with appropriate on- and off-site biodiversity offsetting.
- Implementing erosion control to mitigate soil degradation.
- Continuous monitoring and restoration of natural habitats.
- Planting trees, shrubs, and hedges.
- Creating wildlife-friendly habitats and ecological corridors.
- Safeguarding and enhancing local biodiversity.
Project timeline
- Construction begins on site: Spring 2025 - ongoing
