11th - 24th May 2026

Across the UK, hundreds of foster carers open their homes to provide love, stability and care to children and young people in need. But many more foster carers are urgently needed across Oxfordshire to ensure every child can be matched with the right home for their individual needs.
From 11th to 24th May, The Fostering Network is running its annual Foster Care Fortnight campaign – a nationwide effort to raise awareness of the incredible impact of foster care and to encourage more people to consider becoming foster carers.
This Foster care Fortnight, Oxfordshire County Council are holding a range of relaxed drop-in and information events across Oxfordshire, where you can find out more about fostering and how you could make a difference to a local child's life. The events offer a friendly, informal space to ask questions, pick up information and chat with a member of our supportive fostering team.
Witney's in-person event is on Monday 18th May, 11am to 2pm at Witney Library, Welch Way, Witney
