Ducklington Planning Applications

The Parish Council plays an important part in the planning process. It is, by law, notified of all planning applications within the parish. Applications are discussed at Council meetings and the views of the council are fed back to the planning authority (West Oxfordshire District Council). Individuals wishing to comment on an application should, in the first instance, contact West Oxfordshire District Council directly.

Part of the village is a designated conservation area. This is designed to protect the special architectural character and historic interest of the village. Planning applications within this area should should show how the proposals preserve and enhance the character of the area, and demonstrate that the proposals are in sympathy with the surroundings. Special attention should be given to the design, scale and use of the materials, so that the existing character of the area is not damaged.
