Ducklington village grass cutting

Ducklington Pond and Green

The village green and pond, one of the areas maintained by the Parish Council

At the April Parish Council meeting councilors discussed the previous years problems with the grass cutting in the village and on the sports field. Complaints had been received throughout the year and the Council had difficulty in getting the contractor to attend and to cut the grass to an acceptable standard.

In order to ensure this situation did not persist into this year councilors voted to cease the contract with the current contractors on grounds of unacceptable performance `and award the remaining 1 year of the contract to West Oxfordshire District Council who have promised a marked improvement on our previous service.

The grass will now be cut regularly and to a high standard. If you have been cutting the grass on Parish Council land during the months of poor service please don’t as the new contractors will resume and it will be hard to tell where has been done and where has not.

If you have any comments about the services the Parish Council provide please do not hesitate to get in touch.
