Recycle your real trees after Christmas

Garden Waste Bin

Recycle your real Christmas Tree with West Oxfordshire District Council

Please put your real Christmas trees out for recycling from Monday 7 January.

Simply put your Christmas tree in your garden waste bin or leave it at the kerbside alongside your food waste bin and recycling boxes on your garden waste collection day. Trees over 5ft should be cut up.

Use My West Oxfordshire to or the Ducklington Parish Council website find out your garden waste collection days or sign up for email reminders about collections.

You do not need to be signed up for garden waste collections to put your tree out for recycling. All decorations and wire should be removed from trees before they are put out for collection.

All collected Christmas trees will be turned into compost at a local recycling centre.

Garden waste collections will not be running from 22 December to 6 January to enable the District council’s contractor to concentrate on picking up extra waste and recycling over the busy festive period.

There will also be changes to collection days over the festive period. See bank holiday collections for information.
