Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
B4044 Swinford Toll Bridge – Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 5 September 2011 – Coming into force: 13 September 2011

This Order is being introduced because of carriageway maintenance works at Swinford Toll Bridge which is anticipated to take one night (9pm to 6am) to complete.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding, when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, in that section of the B4044 that crosses Swinford Toll Bridge. Exemptions are included for police, fire and ambulance services and for the works and for vehicular access to adjacent premises which are only accessible from the closed sections of road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is via B4449, A415, A420 and Cumnor Hill & vice versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
