Notice of election

Following the resignation of Graham Lenton there has been a petition by electors for an election and as a result notice of an election of a parish councillor for the parish of Ducklington has been given by the Returning Officer.

Nomination papers are available from the offices of the Returning Officer at the District Council office on Woodgreen, Witney, and must be delivered to the Returning Officer by no later than 12 noon on Friday 22nd July 2011.

If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 18 August 2011.

Postal vote requests or amendments to existing postal vote arrangements must be made to the Electoral Registration Officer no later than 5pm on Wednesday 3rd August 2011.

Please download the notice of election for full details.

Please also note that there is another vacancy on the Parish Council following the resignation of Brian Hicks in April. As no request for an election was received for this vacancy the Parish Council will co-opt a new councillor. Details about the co-option process and information about how people can apply will be made available shortly and in the next village newsletter. There are TWO vacancies; one to be filled by co-option, one to be filled by an election.
