New handmade benches installed at Bartholomew Close - Thanks to Wesley Barrell

Two new hand-made picnic benches have been donated to the Parish at the Bartholomew Close open space site by Wesley Barrell Ltd.
The Bartholomew Close open space was given to the parish by the developer of the nearby houses as a green and welcoming space for the whole parish to enjoy. Over the past year the Parish Council has been working to improve the public open space at the bottom of Bartholomew Close. A new litter bin and gate have been installed, the trees and hedges have been trimmed and coppiced.

Furniture maker Wesley-Barrell whose factory is on Standlake Road was approached to see whether they would be able to manufacture and donate two picnic benches for the site. Wesley Barrell have a long association with the Witney area and moved their headquarters and furniture workshop to the Ducklington Mill site in 1999. The Parish Council was very grateful when they agreed to hand make the benches at their Ducklington Workshop and hope that many people will be able to enjoy using them over the coming summer.
