A415 at Newbridge to close for 9 days

Road Closed Sign

The A415 is to be closed for 9 days in February 2011

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC ORDER – S14(1) ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE: A415 NEWBRIDGE

Oxfordshire County Council have arranged for a temporary road closure to apply to a section of the A415 at Newbridge whilst essential bridge repair and carriageway resurfacing works are carried out.

A temporary Order will be made to implement the temporary closure and will operate from 19 February 2011. The estimated duration of the works is 9 days. Notice of intention to make the Order will be published in the local press shortly.

Because of the narrow width of the bridge and removal of the road surface it will be impossible to provide reliable unhindered access across the bridge and there will be no access for any vehicles including Emergency Service Vehicles for the duration of the closure. Access for pedestrians will be maintained, although subject to the progress of the works, there may be delays.

The map below shows the closed bridge (red marker) and also other available Thames crossings (green markers)
