West Oxfordshire Play Rangers

Ducklington Parish Council is pleased to be able to host West Oxfordshire Play Rangers on the Chalcroft Close play area. Play Rangers encourage children and young people to make more use of their local outdoor space. They provide free open access play sessions aimed at 5-16 year olds, giving them a chance to explore new challenges and have lots of fun outdoors.

Dates and times of sessions

Play Rangers are currently visiting:

  • Bampton – Pembroke Place Play Area – every Tuesday from 10am to 12.30pm (until 24 August)
  • Brize Norton – Kilkenny Lane Country Park – every Tuesday from 3.30pm to 6pm
  • Charlbury – Nine Acres Recreation Ground – every Thursday from 10am to 12.30pm (until 26 August)
  • Chipping Norton – New Street Recreation Ground – every Thursday from 3.30pm to 6pm
  • Ducklington – Chalcroft Close Play Area – every Friday from 1.30pm to 4pm (until 27 August)
  • Enstone – Lidstone Road Playing Field – every Monday from 10am to 12.30pm (until 23 August)
  • Eynsham – Oxford Road Playing Field – every Friday from 10am to 12.30pm (until 27 August)
  • Middle Barton – Recreation Ground, Worton Road – every Monday from 3.30pm to 6pm
  • Milton under Wychwood – Village Green – every Wednesday from 10am to 12.30pm (until 25 August)
  • Stonesfield – Recreation Ground, Field Close – every Wednesday from 3.30pm to 6pm

How Play Ranger sessions work

  • All sessions are free of charge
  • Children are free to come and go as they please, this is an open access scheme
  • Parents/carers remain responsible for their children at all times
  • All ages are welcome (children under 5 should be accompanied by an adult)
  • Parents/carers are very welcome to join in
  • Play isn’t always clean and dry, so wear something suitable
  • All Play Ranger staff are qualified and CRB checked
  • Sessions are due to take place in any weather but from time to time they may need to be cancelled.

The Play Ranger project is managed by Oxfordshire Play Association and is financed through a Big Lottery Fund grant obtained by the District Council and funding from Oxfordshire County Council.
