I am writing to give you advance notification of an Exercise which will take place at Royal Air Force Brize Norton over the period Wednesday 5 May to Friday 7 May 2010.
During this period, four C130 Hercules aircraft from Royal Air Force Lyneham will be operating out of Brize Norton in what will be the first of three training deployments in preparation for Lyneham assets moving across to Brize Norton by December 2012.
It is anticipated that over the three days, the aircraft will be flying throughout the day and into the night, with some sorties ranging from 3- 4 hours in duration. These sorties will include Night Visual Circuit Training, similar to that already carried out by our own VC10s and C17 aircraft, with the aircraft operating at a height of between 2500 ft down to 1500 ft and would only be flown lower than this during approach and take off.
We hope to be able to provide you with more detailed information regarding timings of these sorties closer to the start date of the Exercise, but in the meantime if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact either myself, on the contact telephone number below, or my colleague, Katie Zasada on 01993 896342.
